A Fall Chair Makeover.

I love to take a dated piece like this cane back barrel chair and give it new life with some paint and fabric.
I'm not a seamstress, so I always look for pieces that won't require any sewing or fancy upholstery work. The seat on this chair is a simple staple upholstery job, so that made it perfect for me.
Next, rather than purchasing an expensive grain sack to use on the seat, I added a 'faux' grainsack stripe to some heavy linen upholstery fabric using tape and acrylic craft paint.
Once the paint was dry, I stapled the fabric in place and returned the seat to the chair. And that was it!
Add a throw pillow to dress it up and make it a little more comfortable.
