It’s fall y’all. Fall is my absolute favorite season, but I have never gotten around to putting up fall decorations. I’m not sure why, but I decided to fully embrace the season this year. I started off small by creating this easy DIY Owl Fall Door Hanger.
First, take two of the sunflowers and hot glue them towards the wide end of the broom. Can you see the owl starting to take shape with those big sunflower eyes?
Next, I added a beak. The acorn was the perfect size, but the color blended in too much with the broom. I happened to have some gold glitter on hand {who doesn’t have jumbo jars of glitter sitting around their house?}, so I covered the acorn in glue and dipped it in the glitter. After the glue started to dry, I hot glued it to the broom directly under the sunflower eyes. I positioned it so that you could still see the acorn top.
The last step is to arrange the leaves. I used a couple of leaves as ears and used the rest to form his wings. Don’t you just love the fall colors?
Enjoyed the project?

Caution about using "wild" acorns from your yard. They frequently have worms.
