Honestly this table wasn't that bad before its was already black but had deep scratches on the top . I did not care for the shiny top coat the table had it really showed every imperfection .
Like said it wasn't that bad what I did was firs give the top a light sanding nothing crazy .I then wiped the entire piece down .
I painted 2 coats of black chalk style paint over the top sanding with grade in between coats .
Next I stenciled the word gather on the top
What I did to achieve the distressed look is rub Chapstick on the table where ever I wanted the distress look I paint over with black paint then when it's dry I simply wipe off the paint with the Chapstick under it . This will show the contrasting color underneath .
I then applied a matte top coat to the entire table .I hope you like it thanks for stopping by😊
