Hi there! I am finally done with this rug!! A friend asked if I would make her one for her bedroom. Of course, I have nothing else to do ...right?! This is a really easy craft, even your kids could help you.You only need 3 things...
You can purchase these non skid rug helpers at home improvement stores, craft stores, Walmart...very inexpensive. Three different colors, 1 yard each.of a lightweight, almost sheer poly. Be sure it has some stretch to it. You can use any kind of fabric...this is just what I used. You can use one of these hook tools, crochet hook, or any kind you have. Here's how I did it. I cut the strips 5" long.
See how I am pulling the white piece of material through. Be sure to grab one of the ends, so they both don't come through...just practice..believe me...when 1/4 through...you'll be a expert!
Pull each end tight and tie a tight knot. When you get to a corner, tie that sideways.
There it goes...it's starting to look like something!
This took hours and hours. Do this while watching a movie...every night for a couple of weeks.
There you go...very easy...just time consuming....I hope you like it...check out a couple hundred more ideas at kelleysdiy.com...love for you to visit!

Have a question about this project?
Is this washable? I have been looking for a bathroom rug and cant find the colors I want. This would be a great idea if its washable.
I’m really confused about the material… 1 yard of each color cut into 5 inch long strips? How wide are the strips supposed to be? I have never sewed anything in my life so not knowing how you got to the 5” strips is mind boggling to me…lol. Please explain in detail. I love love love this rug and it’s something I know I can do but I can’t figure out how to cut the strips!!! Help!!!!
