Bunny & Crate Easter Decor

I smile every time I see bunny decor. Even though I no longer have little ones who enjoy all things about bunnies and eggs and the whimsical parts of Easter, that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped decorating with bunnies! This is an easy decor piece that can be put together in about an hour.
I purchased an unpainted crate from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts to use for holding the eggs.
This wooden bunny was also purchased at Jo-Ann.
I used chalk paint to give them both a base color that I knew I wanted to have show through the next coat of paint
After the green paint was dry, I covered the crate with white chalk paint and used my palm sander to distress it. I added some brown shredded Easter grass as filler and topped it with craft moss.
I gave the same paint and distressing job to the bunny. I wanted the green paint to show through to give it a worn look. Using just a little black paint, I added his eyes on each side.
For his tail, I used soft yarn to make a pom pom and then hot glued it in place.
I added a small bow with hot glue to the bunny and then hot glued the bunny to the crate.
I bought a bag of speckled eggs at Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft and tossed them in the crate.
