15 Minute Basket Planter

Hi there, Hometalk Friends! It’s time for spring planting and this week I'm sharing a thrifty spring garden planter and you just may already have what you need to create your own…
Do you have a tired looking basket hiding in the garage or basement that could use a makeover? If not, there are many places to find inexpensive baskets like thrift stores, dollar stores, yard sales and even online. Need a basket? Find one here: http://amzn.to/2lFyGqo
I found my basket at the thrift store and while I loved the shape and that it was ready to hang, the color was pretty drab. Maybe yours is like mine and needs a little love.
All it needs is a coat of spray paint. There are so many colors to choose from--the possibilities are endless! Wouldn’t an Easter basket version in a pastel shade be lovely? Here, I’ve used Spa Blue. Find it here: http://amzn.to/2lkeIFN
Here's a tip I use with narrow deep containers like this basket. I simply flip a few flower pots over for the desired height and then a couple of smaller plants can be placed on top. If your basket is wide enough, you can always use one large pot of flowers. Happy planting--from drab to fab in less than 15 minutes!
