Are you looking to expand your entertaining space to include the outdoors? Create a warm and inviting outdoor space with this DIY solar lamp.
Creating outdoor ambiance doesn't have to break the bank. You may have a lamp that you are considering donating or selling in your next garage sale. If not, shop garage sales, thrift stores or flea markets to find an inexpensive lamp. Next, grab a solar landscape light for a couple of dollars at your local hardware store or dollar store.
I am proud to say...I picked this beauty up at a garage sale for $2.00 and it included a bonus shade!
Step 1) Remove the lampshade and light bulb.
Step 2) Remove the lampshade bracket.
Step 3) Using wire cutters, snip electrical cord...no electricity is needed for this project...woohoo!
Step 4) Spray paint lamp in color of choice. (This step is optional but for this particular lamp it was...A MUST!) I used this spray paint.
Step 5) Place a socket lampshade on lamp base.
Step 6) Add solar landscape light. Separate the stake from the top portion of the light. Place the top portion of the light in the hole of the light bulb socket. Make sure the solar panel is exposed to light. This is how it will charge.
