I LOVE a stylish and thrifty DIY project, don't you?

These Pillows Covers are a great project that will freshen up your living space and they only cost me $2 a piece! Seriously!
I was in Ikea the other day and came across a set of adorable kitchen towels.  Four of them, all made of ticking/toweling style fabric (which I LOVE!), and all of them big enough to use in a pillow-cover.  Add to that the $4.00 price tag, and I was in!

The towel set uses all four of the towels make 2 pillow covers.  I found them in both blue and green, and I choose blue.  You will need two of the towels for one cover, and two for the other.  First, you will need to pick which of the two towels you want on the front of your pillows.  I picked the checks and the thick stripes for my fronts.  Then I added the stripes to the striped front and the large grid to the checked front.

You can mix them up any way you choose.
Steps one through three in the tutorial focus on adding a hem to the two back pieces, but if you cut carefully you can use the edges that are already hemmed.  So that puts you a couple of steps ahead of the game!

Once you have these cut out the project will take you about 15 minutes.  It’s easy-peasy and quick!  And I think you all know that is how I like my projects to be!

Happy sewing!
