I found these beauties for $5 on letgo, but they were a little worse for wear. I almost always redo things I find stuff like this, so chalk paint & stencils it is!
Here they are as I found them- great find for $5!
I sanded with 120 grit & my trusty black & decker mouse. I didn't touch the legs, I wanted them to stay as is.
I used art minds sea glass chalk paint as the base for the top & sides, art c ultra chalk in turquoise for the legs. I also will use that & the metallic teal for the stencils.
my paint supplies
These are my stencils- yes- paper doilies in a variety of sizes! Easy to use, disposable & come in huge packs! I even found this pack on clearance!
Arrange in whatever pattern you like & start to carefully apply your paint with foam brushes or daubers. Do wear gloves- this will get messy. If you get a little outside the lines(like i did) i feel it only adds to the charm. I did try to do a little quick clean ups with water & a small brush, but it didn't work that well. No big deal.
color #1 finished- allow to dry
Color# 2 layered on top done! now once this dries completely you can apply whatever type of sealer you prefer. I used a spray clear coat, but a brush on varnish will work just as well. This is an easy project, it just takes a fair amount of time, since you have to wait for each layer of paint to dry. You can mix colors to match you own decor & taste!
