lOoks like an old fashion salt box.
For soap? Ooh what a mystery!
Could use it for Straws - Pencils & Pens - Plant (Maybe Mint)
I see some cooking utensils nearby...I would use it as my dump bucket while I was prepping (the place where all the scraps go ) and then when you're finished dump it and into the dishwasher it goes.
I would take out the lid.. paint the wood and add some plants. Oregano, parsley, or cilantro. :)
Salt box, fill it w/ salt
Yes, Salt! Use Kosher Salt.
I think it is for salt too but if you don't need it for that maybe you could use it for a scrubbie or to put rings in it when you do dishes. Or just take it down and use it in another part of your apartment
it looks small to me! but that's what i was thinking.... the dish scrubby? since it looks close to the sink. i now wish i had one! lol
It is definitely a salt cellar or salt box (same thing). If the "box" is plastic, it was most likely after the 60's
Well being from Louisiana, I'd fill it with Cajun seasoning. We put that stuff on everything!
They use to keep a metal can on the stove for grease.. this looks like it has spatters under the lid.. ?
You could keep rubber bands or bread ties to use in the kitchen or you could put cactus soil mix and add a succulent plant. Or maybe for a ring keeper when working in the kitchen. Small kitchen gadgets. Or any small items. Have fun.
Hello Wendy; Someone turned this Antique piece of glass into a Salt box.
The glass is made by Anchor Hocking. It is an older piece. From the 40's-50's.
I believe that the pattern name is Rings.
You can use this piece for anything that you desire!!
I hope that this is helpful to you!!! Take Care!
Hello Wendy; The base and the top is handmade.
As far as the glass Antique piece, I have studied Depression Glass for all of my Life!!
I am exceedingly knowledgeable about Antiques, Prices, and such,
I hope you have a great weekend! Take Care!
Looks like a denture cup.
I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher, looks old enough for the paint to not stand up to the bleach in dishwasher detergent. Rule in this house...if it was made before dishwashers came into being, hand wash only.
Hi Wendy, I think you got a lot of answers, just want to say I love the blue tile!
