I love having a long hallway bench!
I found this 6 foot church pew at the Salvation Army for $25. If you have ever run across an old pew at a yard sale or thrift store and have thought about nabbing it, do it! It can be so useful and a great place for your purse/bags and to store and put your shoes on.
I am posting this for general storage inspiration. While I understand that the celebrated art here is not for everyone, I will not be changing it. My "fresh husband" (we're still newly married so he's fresh and new) painted the masquerade piece in graduate art school.
Here is the empty hall space I had available:
Here is the pew. It is 6' X 2' with added center legs. That made this 2' x 1' shoe rack the perfect size to slide in.
It fit two racks on either side of the center legs leaving about 8" in the center and a few on both ends. They didn't stick out in the slightest on any side.
I put in shoes and used the low, top row for water shoes and flip flops. In the center I put a new pair of shoes and a brown storage box of shoe polish, extra shoe strings and shoe shine items.
On top of the bench is a reusable Scout shopper I often use for errands and the purse my husband gave me. He's the best! ❤️
Here is a view from the den:
And a view down the hall:
To hide the white, for the time being, I popped a faux fern in. (I cannot keep a plant alive to save my life)
There you have it! Easy hall shoe storage.
