So the Deer Ate Your Garden. . .

. . . This is the natural state of affairs if you live close to a large deer population, so instead of cursing the poor creatures why not try to coexist with some planning and care in your landscape and garden design. It can be a trial and error kind of game, but I think it’s kind of fun (and infuriating at times) to find your place in a beautiful wilderness garden. . . remind me of this when I decide to just electrify my entire perimeter halfway through summer.
That being said, I want to share with you a few of my favorite deer resistant perennials you might want to try (I’m zone 5, so these may not be suitable for every garden). Please remember that not all deer have the same appetites and your fuzzy fellas might just take a liking to something mine find unsatisfying. Let me know if you’ve had luck with any of these plants, and if you have a favorite, please pass it along.
