The Best Way To Organize Hats, Gloves and Scarves This Winter

We have been using this system for years and it has been the best solution for organizing hats, gloves, mittens and scarves during the winter months.
Baskets of gloves, mittens, hats and scarves never work for organizing these items. You are sure to lose something and you are never able to find exactly what you need when you need it.
I was sick of the mess and clutter baskets were leaving our winter "gear" so I invested in a {aff}  Clear Over the Door Hanging Pantry Organizer and it has changed our winter lives! icon
To organize these items, you must first go through everything you have and purge the items you won't use anymore or don't fit. There are always people looking for winter items so donate those things you can't use anymore.
Once you have purged what you won't use anymore, fill the organizer with what you have left. Hang it on whatever door is convenient (we put ours on the inside of the hall closet door). Keep pairs together in one pocket and double up if you need more space. You can see exactly what is inside each pocket so you can grab exactly what you need every time. The kids will even stay more organized with this system. No more lost mittens or gloves! This is such an easy and inexpensive way to organize all the gear that comes with the colder winter months.
No more piles of unmatched winter supplies!

I have been doing this for a while - not only for gloves & hats, but I also use one for my cleaning supplies, like rags, dusters, squeegees, etc. But I didn't stop there - I have one for electronic cords. And a clear plastic one would also work well (I think) for kids shoes - cut it in half and hang it where they can reach it. It will not only keep the shoes organized, but catch the dirt and keep from marking up the wall.
