Valentine's Day Gift for the Two of You

While looking into Valentine gift posts on Hometalk I came across one by Ms Thistlewood (?) of Thistlewood Farms that I wanted to do along the same line as hers. The title of her post is''Perfect Gift idea for Valentine's Day.
I did make my Valentine art a bit different not having the metal stamps at hand.
Check her project out too I think you will like it.
What I will show is the Valentine gifts in their nearly completed form like this one here. I have some well aged picket fence to use and old frames that I had given to me from a house that was being cleaned out.
The heart pieces were purchased at A.C. Moore and the spoons from the DollarTree store a couple shops up from there. Some home improvement stores do have picket boards for sale but you can use any thin piece of wood that you will fit in the frame.
I first painted each of the frames. ( some of the frames I have were purchased while on a yard sale trip that takes place on Route 96 just outside of Owego NY). Some of the picket was cut prior to the frames being painted and secured in the frames. With two of the frames and picket I also sprayed them with a clear gloss.
I should have waited until after the frames were painted to secure the wood but as usual Hind sight is still better than my Foresight. The pickets once in place were then stapled to the frame. To finish the picket part I will be cutting pieces of canvas to fit nicely on the back to reduce the chance of a buyer getting a nasty sliver. Acrylic paint was used for the lettering and the little artwork.
The hearts I painted, as you can see in the photos, and then glued them on to the wood. Plumbers contact glue was used for the adhesive this glue was also used to secure the spoons. The ''Still Spoon-N'' is a borrowed statement. I thought that Still Hang-N-w/You would also work well.
The lettering could use some improvement. I looked briefly for small stencils or transfer letters but did not find /or want to pay the price for what was available at the time.
Something you might consider as I have for some future work... Using a Woodburning tool. I think burning in the letters would look interesting.
It is an easy enough project to do that you can provide a nice Valentine's Day gift that each can relate too.
