I've been dying to try Modern Master's Metal paints and when I found this old Art Deco dresser with a bad paint job, I knew it would be a good candidate.
I stripped it and sanded it down, ready for a new look.
I used General Finishes Gel Stain in Nutmeg for the rich, oak finish.
I painted Modern Masters Rust paint on the drawer fronts and sprayed on the activator. I'd allow it to run down to the bottom of the drawer, then flipped it over so it would run down to the top of the drawer too. I repeated this several times allowing it to dry between applications.
The top drawer was stenciled and activator applied
Finished up with several coats of gloss poly.
This was fun stuff to play with! I want to try other projects too.
Here is the finished project, I am very pleased with the outcome. I cant wait to use this technique again!

I love the shape of this dresser! (I'm usually a farmhouse kinda gal.)

Is it made of metal, or why did you use the rust inhibitor process?

I also have admired the turquoise that starts the rust-killing solutions. I have only used Rust Reformer and it doesn't need an activator, just paint it on after you've knocked the loose rust off.

The marbleized look on the drawers is amazing. You have a great imagination and a wide steak of creativity!

    Thanks for sharing!

Love how this dresser turned out! But I’m

not sure I could pull this off. I’m not very crafty. But I’m going to keep following you because I was also inspired by the cinder block and wood fence, very creative! 👍
