Chalk Painted Flag Dresser Transformation

I found a beauty of an old waterfall dresser at a garage sale for 10 bucks! I loved the shape but wanted to give it a fresh new look to use in our sons' shared bedroom. I have seen many stunning Union Jack dressers but wanted to do something a little 'closer to home' so I chose the flag of Iceland (which is my families heritage). I used some Country Chic Chalk Paint to give a fresh, soft, chalky feel to the piece.
A Chalk Painted (Icelandic Flag) Dresser Transformation.
I used three Country Chic colours- midnight sky, devotion, and simplicity. I first gave the dresser two good coats of midnight sky and let it dry.
Then came the taping, painting, drying, measuring, taping again, painting, drying.... in order to get the flag design painted. I made sure to use a painters tape for delicate surfaces so as not to disturb my new base coat.
Lastly - waxing and buffing. Wish I had a wax brush for this project. Now I have one- works so much better then any cloth (they never seem to be truly "lint free").
I love how it turned out! Perhaps a little bold for some people but perfect for our boys' shared bedroom space (and personal, too!!).
