When spring comes, I'm one of those people who take down the dark-coloured curtains in my living room and replace them with lighter ones. The first time I did this, I wasn't happy with the no-pattern look of the sheers I bought, so I came up with an easy fix.
For each window (about 36" wide) you will need:
- 2 sheer curtain panels, (34" wide by 84" long)
- 4 rolls sheer, flocked-pattern ribbon per window
- straight pins
- scissors
Choose a ribbon colour that suits your decor style and makes you happy.
Two of these curtain panels are just right for each of the long narrow windows in my living room, but they are a little boring.
I left the ribbon on the roll while I used straight pins to attach one end to the curtains just below the curtain rod at appropriate intervals. After I had pinned the ribbon at the top, I cut it off the roll at the bottom of the curtain, so it matched the length of the curtains. I used four ribbon strips; two on each curtain panel.
I just let the ribbon pieces hang loose. No need to pin them at the bottom.
The ribbon adds pattern and colour to plain sheers and, as all of the materials were from a dollar store, I'm laughin'.
You can see the ribbon pattern a bit better in this closeup. I love the breezy look of my summer curtains.
FYI, the curtain rod is from the dollar store, too! See more easy spring and summer projects on my website http://www.dollarstorestyle.com/index.html

Looks Beautiful.... But, did you sew the Ribbon on ??? Or just pinned it on ??? I love it.....😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Does it hang straight down or do you have to keep adjusting it?
The roll of ribbon does not look like what is on window. It looks like you cut pieces in s certain pattern on the curtains. How did you get that look?
