I was at my local Habitat Restore a couple of days ago. I came across this awesome pendant light. When I first layed eyes on it I knew what I wanted to do with it. A battery operated hanging yard light. It was a steal at $8.00. I was excited to start working on it. But because of the weather and a migraine🤕 I had to put it to the side.
Feeling better and ready go.I detached the glass globe and washed it.
I then cut the electrical cord off. I used pliers to remove the nut and bolt inside the metal cap.
I gave all the parts a good scrubbing. I reassembled the light minus the globe. I then glued a battery operated to the inside of the metal cap/ top.
I took the metal cap/ top with the chain attached outside to paint. I hung it from a shepherd's hook to make it easier.
I let it dry completely before attaching the globe.
I like that you can change the color from clear, green, red and blue.
Here are the supplies I used.

Have a question about this project?
Luv this idea.. ive an old tiffany style glass light ..wanted to hang it.. somewhere. a gift from my grandmother so wld never get rid of it.. did u glue the light to the inside of the cap? Was 1 light enough? Im thinking because my light is so much bigger id need more than 1, however the bottom is open , so it would shine down more like a spotlight than ambiant lighting.. any thoughts?
Since you glued the battery operated light fixture in, how do you change the batteries when necessary?
Really clever. I love it! It would be cute painted a bright color too.
