When it came time to announce our pregnancy, I knew I wanted to involve our puppy! I made a DIY bandana for her to wear during a visit to see our families so she could be the one to spill the beans to them.

This was a super simple and affordable project!
First, cut a triangle of fabric to use as the bandana. I used an old T-shirt that was in a box of clothing I'd planned to donate after decluttering my closet.

I used a pair of scissors to cut the triangle and didn't worry about it being perfect since you don't really see the exact shape of it once tied around a dog's neck.
Then cut out the words using a Silhouette cutting machine. I designed the words in the Silhouette Studio software and cut them out on white heat transfer vinyl. I love this heat transfer vinyl because it makes it so easy to create custom, personalized crafts!
Once the vinyl is cut, use a hook tool to "weed" away the excess material, leaving only the lettering on the clear sticky paper.
Center the lettering on the fabric and firmly press down to stick it in place. Follow the instructions for the heat transfer material to iron the lettering onto your fabric bandana.
Here's the completed bandana I created! We tied it around our puppy's neck and let our family members slowly discover the news as she greeted all of them during our visit.
Are you planning a pregnancy announcement? This bandana is a really cute way to share your news! We used it to share the news in person with our family members but you could also make one for your dog and include them in a photo to share on social media when it's time to announce your pregnancy with all of your friends and family!
