Easy Clean DIY Dog Bed – Upcycled Foam Mattress

Hi All, I am embarking on a quest to use up the old pieces from our old foam mattress, my last project was to make a silly frilly cushion for my craft room chair and I have a few other projects in mind as well. But a dog bed seams an obvious choice for a foam project so here we go
The first step was to cut the foam to the correct size.
Once that was done I used an old sheet to make a cover for the foam.
Now comes the tricky part. I used some cording and a large upholstery needle to sew a dog bone shape into the foam.
Once I was finished stitching I used some red house paint to finish off the dog bed.
It takes 3-4 coats to get to a kind of leathery finish. But once the painting is finished you are left with a surface that is very easy to clean.

Hi Emily, Thanks for your comment. I glad you liked the idea. Pound for pound it sounds like you have more dog than we do. 🙂🙂🙂
