Our home is fairly new. A few of the cabinet fronts needed to be replaced. I asked if I could keep the damaged ones. I have had them stored for months trying to figure out what I could use them for.
Over all this was an easy project. I painted 3 coats of chalkboard paint. Brush paint on first to get close to the edge. I only rolled using a foam roller the last coat for a smoother finish.
Each door was pre-drilled for the handle. So I used rope or ribbon to decorate the chalkboard and at the same time cover the two pre-drilled holes.
I had both white and a darker wood cabinet door fronts. My kitchen has white and Grey cabinets while the laundry room we choose the mocha color ones. The project took three days due to needing to let the paint dry well. Also I was in no hurry.
Enjoyed the project?
