I was tired of my glue gun falling over everytime I used it. I had seen several on Pinterest. I didn't want it to be too difficult to make.
I went to Goodwill to get some ideas. I came across this little picture easel. I knew I could work with it.
Just $1.99.
I got out my screw driver and took it apart.
I took two dowel rods and cut them into four even pieces.
I got out a can of red paint and painted the pieces of the easel.
I drilled four holes in the cross bar of the easel. I inserted the four dowel rods. I shortened the legs of the easel. And took the back leg that holds the easel up and glued it to the two legs. I cut off the ends that stuck out on each side.
I finished painting the rest of the pieces. I had a small dipping bowl to catch the drips of hot glue. It fit perfectly in the opening. The glue gun fits snuggly between the four dowel rods. I filled the metal pencil holder I bought at Goodwill for .99 with some of my glue sticks.
All done and ready to glue.
I like how it turned out. It only cost me $2.98 cents. And I didn't have to ask my husband to cut the pieces for me. I used a small hand saw and miter box. I always have plenty of paint for my projects. Now I can glue without worrying about my glue gun falling over.
