These beautiful wine bottle and cork holders are attached to reclaimed wood.

All items are custom made to order. We make these in Copper, galvanized steel and a rustic cold rolled steel.

Heart holds over 40 corks.

Base is approx 14 1/2" x 5"

This is one of our completed wine bottle and cork holders in the rustic metal and black reclaimed wood base.

One of the first things we do is find some reclaimed pieces of wood that are the width we need, the wood is cut and sanded smooth. After sanding we rag stain each piece. The colors we use are black, gray, honey and some wood is left a natural blond color. Holes are drilled to be used to attach the heart and wine bottle holder.

Our next step involves selecting the metals for the heart. We currently use copper, galvanized steel and cold rolled steel. Each sheet is cut into the width and length needed to make the hearts. Most of the widths are a little bigger than the length of a standard wine cork, usually between 2.5" - 3" wide. Length is approx 30"-34". For the rustic holders, the metal is treated with acid so it rusts, this process takes a few days depending on how the metal reacts to the acid.

The metal is then bent into a heart, to hold the heart into place there is a small weld at the bottom of each heart. We also have a small overlap at the bottom to punch a hold for the screw we use to attach to the reclaimed wood.

Next we use steel and copper rods to form the bottle holder

Because the steel does not bend easily, its heated with a torch and bent around a cylinder to get the exact shape we need. For the copper rods, we are able to bend them by hand without heating the metal.

This is one of our steel rods that still needs to have the tail bent down so we can attach the washer and tap the bottom so we can attach it to the wood base.

Steel and copper washers are welded onto each rod that has been shaped in a curl.

After they cool we use a special tool to tap them so a nut can be used to attach the rods to the reclaimed wood.

Hearts are attached to the wood with the screw that was added to the heart after welding, its secured with a nut underneath.

Wine bottle holders are then attached in the same manner as the heart.

After both pieces are attached, felt circles are placed on the bottom of the wood to prevent scratching.
