This is a quick and easy decorative birdhouse that we made as a gift. Using a balsa wood birdhouse, Mod Podge, scrapbook paper remnants and vintage book pages we create this super cute and fun birdhouse!
Measuring the paper for the roof...
Use the same method for the back and front of the birdhouse...
Remove the perch for better and easier paper application. Make holes for the bird opening and the perch opening.
Slather with Mod Podge.
Use the same method with the vintage book pages for the side f the house.
Allow to dry completely.
We made paper flowers to adorn the house.
I used a vintage button from my grandmother's collection.
Isn't this cute?
We were very happy with how this turned out :)
Enjoyed the project?

Susan From Colorado on Nov 08, 2014Just wondering and thought I would ask (because I don't know) If you paint a couple of layers of modge podge on the outside of the paper, wouldn't it be weatherproof enough to hang outdoors for the little birds or does modge podge get ichy when it gets wet even after is has a good drying out.. just thought I would ask for all those interested in an outdoor version of this adorable house.. another thought just came to me.. what about using plastic contact paper? like the kind we line our kitchen cupboards with.. since it's plastic coated, I wonder if it would work.... Wish I could make one, but am one of those types that refuses to misuse any page of books.. they are to precious to ruin... thanks for the idea though, it really is a cute little house...
