Thrift Store Bucket Makeover
I saw this sweet galvanized tub at the thrift store and had to have it. It was the perfect size for a planter or a vase.
I have a weakness for galvanized tubs, I have them growing grass on my kitchen windowsill right now and it looks so charming...but you can never have too many right?
I started by washing it out. Next, I hit the computer to find a graphic I liked.
I wanted the bucket to look like the ones you see holding stems at the farmer's market or like on some of the galvanized buckets featured here.
I used a simple program to type up "Fresh Flowers" and create a border. Since my worlds were new, I needed to age them a bit.
I wanted a weathered look, so after I cut out my design, I crumbled the paper up and then flattened it out again.
Then I used a brush to paint on some decoupage gel. I laid the paper down on it and then went over it again with more decoupage. I let it dry for several hours.
In the end, I had a new floral bucket. Not bad for two bucks.
Easy peasy and super sweet!
