Dried Orange Garland
Dried orange garlands are making a huge comeback this season, so I thought I’d share the details of how I made mine.
For the orange garland above, I used three oranges.
Start by preheating your oven to 225*
Then thinly slice your oranges and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Use a paper towel to try and soak up as much excess juice/moisture as you can.
Then bake for 1 hour, flip them
over and bake for another hour.
This is what they should look like after 2 hours. If they haven’t quite browned enough around the edges, you can keep them in the oven a little longer, just be sure to keep your eye on them so they don’t burn.
I like to leave mine on the tray and let them air dry for an additional day or two.
I used green floral wire to
string my oranges together, but you can also use a needle and string/thread.
Such a simple, inexpensive way to decorate for the holidays and the end result is absolutely charming.
