Our Fall Mantel & Living Room

Today I'm sharing our Fall Mantel and Living Room. Because it's still August and not even Labor Day yet (I mean we're still wearing shorts and tank tops and flip flops here in Cali) I gave it a nice light Fall look.
So it still works with our summer colors and it's not bright orange pumpkins screaming at us either.
I pulled out our white and neutral pumpkins so add to our neutral palette. While I have been thrift shopping throughout the year I have bought pumpkins for no more than $3. Tip - don't think they are all gone either. As we get closer to the holiday and people are decorating they will give things away. You know that old "I don't need this anymore" or "I want a whole new look" as well as right after the holiday people donate a lot.
This is my summer tray with shells on it if you look close and I just took out the candle holders and added my white and neutral pumpkins. I shared How to Make Sweater Pumpkins last year but I was a newer blogger then. I re-shared it Monday on Hometalk and they featured it on the Facebook Page (which I was very excited and honored) and many people shared them as well so that was a lot of fun. I made these with old sweaters found in thrift stores for a few dollars and the tutorial is above.
Along with my two old windows I have the white big chippy frame and I found in my stash this pretty brown ornate frame and then just pulled out the glass for now to use it here as well.
I love the white pumpkin on the silver weathered urn and the grapevine wreath in the middle. The twine rope wrapped candles were found at Ross for a few dollars and you could make them very easily too.
We all have our own decorating styles and in blog land we're ahead of the game so I like to try and decorate in a way that won't shock my family and we all feel happy and comfortable.
I was in Vons (our market) yesterday and they had a whole wall of neutral Halloween and Fall decor and they also had loads of darling orange pumpkins too.
In a couple weeks I'm sure I'll change it again. If you want to see our totally different Fall Mantel and Living Room from last year, click on the blog link below and it will take you there. I also share here and on the blog 10 ways to Transition into Fall so take a peek at that too. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
