I have a modern silver color wood dresser, how do I repair stains on a wood colored dresser. I would prefer not to have to make-over the dresser but if that is the only option please let me know if anyone has advice on how to refinish a dresser.

It depends on a few factors:
What is the finish on your dresser? Silver paint? Some sort of stain?
What is the stain from?
Can you give us a little more information?
You can buy silver stain, and try and work it into the stain.
Hello. Do you know what the stains are from?
Sometimes water stains are reversed by particular techniques.
Posting a photograph might be helpful. Otherwise one way to repair it would be to repaint it the matching silver color.
Hi Brenda, Is there anything else on the wood other than a stain? (a top coat?) Also, are the stains water stains or from something else? If you can provide a little more info we would be happy to help :)
RustOleum has a line of metallic paint that should enable you to fix it.
Hi Brenda,
What sort of stains? Do you have pictures of the piece?

Hi Brenda hoping this helps you out,
Hard Surface Floors
Wood (Oiled, Stained, Varnished, Waxed)Immediately rub the stain with a little denatured alcohol. Follow this with a liberal application of boiled linseed oil. If the stain persists, leave some oil on the surface for 24 hours, then wipe with a clean, soft cloth and polish or wax as usual.

However you touch up the stain you need to seal the wood so this doesn't happen again.
Photo available?
I would think repainting would be the best option. Or put a mat over the stain and pretend it is gone.
If it is water/moisture stains, you could try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xml2Ndz1y2o
If it’s the top, you can use silver leaf foil on whole top. Seal thoroughly after. U can also antique that silver leaf foil a little then seal well when dry to create a two silver colored piece.
I would try to blend it in, first. If it doesn't work, you can refinish the top. There are many shades of silver, so I would invest on the two closest shades I could find, and then, try them on a scrap of wood. Sometimes you have to mix your own blend to match. Still not happy? I have used stencils in the past to disguise damage until I want to do a complete refinish. Tape the pattern you like so that the damaged area gets paint. Even a piece of lace or doily works. I use a similar color to distract the eye (you can use spray paint) or a contrasting color to enjoy the pattern. Take some pictures and post it! I 'd love to see what you do with it! Good luck! P.S. Use a clear sealer to protect it and use a coaster!
I'd try a dry eraser
You can try to clean the stain by lightly scrubbing it with toothpaste and a damp rag.
I would try painting it with silver chalk paint. Good luck!
You may just have to repaint it. Do you have a picture?
