Console Makeover
This is the perfect console table, perfect for an entryway or behind your sofa, use as a tv table, desk ect... it just needs some TLC. My vision for this table was a coastal, beachy vibe!
- It’s definitely a good strong piece, solid wood from broyhill.
I love that it has a functional drawer.
Once I cleaned it up with Krud kutter, a great cleaning solution from Home Depot it was ready for sanding!
I used a palm sander with the roughest sand paper to remove the old stain, then used a fine sand paper to smooth it out!
Now it’s ready for a fresh coat of paint.
I used a fresh winter blue for the body, then mixed equal parts water and white paint to make a whitewash for the top.
once the paint had dried, I used lemon wax from The Chippy Barn paint company to seal the whole piece! I then used a nice paper to line the drawer.
I love how the top turned out!
I changed the knob to a large glass knob, giving it a nice new coastal look!
Here is the finished piece!
Not bad for a few hours work! A new look for any space! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁

Being an "old-fashioned" girl raised in my formative years in the country, with country folk, I usually don't like to see a natural wood defiled by paints or other, unless it is an artful cultural representation, such as Germanic Fractur, Nordic Rosemaling, or Kenyan house-painting (I am also an art teacher.) HOWEVER, all that said, this was an UBER-tastefully done restoration/redo. All your choices were stellar for this piece. Kudos.
