Beach Hut Crazy Key Holder.
I have an obsession with beach huts. Not sure why, but I do. So it’s not surprising that I eventually figured out a few beach hut projects. This is going to be that special spot to hang your keys.
So this is the inspiration photo that I found on Pinterest. Pinterest is my go to place for ideas. The trick is to see something that you like and then re-imagine it into something you can use.
I used scraps of wood. You can make this any size. I used a handheld jigsaw to make the necessary cuts. I don’t have a lot of pictures but I’m sure you can follow along and make one of these cuties for yourself.
The beach hut is on the right. The tiny beach hut on the left top is going to be a matching key ring! The little square piece is going to be the door. I use popsicle sticks for the roof and to make a tiny door for the tiny beach hut. You can cut the popsicle stick with a good scissors. Easy Peasy. The washer will become the life preserver!
Painting everything makes this project come alive. An FYI: I used a powder blue fine point paint pen to later make the lines.
The final pictures will show you what colors I painted and where. Sometimes I really don’t know until I get into it, making changes along the way. I added the popsicle roof with glue and my brad nailer. Everything is coated with polycrylic to make it durable. I used a round head screw, and a split ring for the matching key ring. I glued the doors onto the huts. And after painting the washer white I carefully painted the red areas. I purchased a set of nautical cut outs. That’s where I got the starfish that you will see on the big hut later.
I was going to paint the back board all one color and then decided to use the inspiration photo to add some fun. I quickly pulled up the photo on my silhouette software and traced the waves. I then cut out a wave stencil. I was going to paint it by hand and then decided a more precise look would be best. Painters tape is also used for the straight lines.
Abby is keeping an eye on my progress as always!!
I glued the big hut to the board. And then from the back side I added screws. Two round picture hangers were added to the back top for easy hanging. Then of course I needed a few cup hooks for the keys.
Isn’t it as cute as can be? Oh and what’s a beach hut on the beach without a few seagulls.
Not everyone lives at the beach. So maybe you can make one with a wooden house or barn. Farmhouse decor is so very popular these days.
I hope you will enjoy this project as much as I did.

My keys have always lived in my purse which is much too large to misplace.

Absolutely adorable. Great for a beach/lake or even a cabin home.

How can you go wrong with a beach theme. Your key holder brings back fond memories of living near the beach. Nicely done!
