Recycled Pallet Patio Seating
Check out this patio project that we did here for my covered deck off of the main dining area. Using recycled pallets and Cushion Foam from Fairfield World-– my ManCrafts team and I made a cushioned sofa seat. This project is great because it turns something old that might be considered trash into an adorable and comfortable piece of furniture.
Hometalk Recommends!
Start by screwing three pallets together to get the height that is comfortable for sitting. It would be great to maybe even put two stacks together to create a longer seating area. We got our pallets in the parking lot of the complex. If you need pallets, contact a local grocery store. They often have them stacked up for pickup and are happy to give them to you.
Add a layer of foam to the top pallet to create a soft cushion. This layer is really important because it is what truly turns the hard wood into a soft, comfy sitting place. There are lots of foam thicknesses so choose the one that works the best for you.
Cover the foam with felt and use a nail gun to secure it in place. If you don't have a nail gun, another option would be to glue it to the wood or hammer nails in.
Cover the seat with whatever blankets and pillows make it fit your style. If the pallet is outdoors, keep this in mind when deciding what to use. Felt is good in the weather because it is made from recycled bottles so there's a little cool fun fact for you.
