No Pantry? No Problem!!!
If you’ve been following me for a while then you know I enjoy switching up spaces every now and then. Our back entry used to have a closed in coat closet, which was great but as we don’t usually enter through the back, I found it to be a waste of space.
Initially I had transformed it into an office space, however, found it rarely used and a hoarders paradise…lol
This is what the office looked like when nice and clean, but it definitely didn’t stay this way.
I was able to create the perfectly straight black lines by using black duct tape!!!
One thing our home has always lacked was pantry space. Where the heck do you store food for a growing family with NO pantry?! So my brain wheels started spinning and TA-DA, transform my office space into a useable pantry!
First I needed to remove the office pieces. To save money, I decided to keep the upper shelves and shelf. This way I could save money and maximize storage. Along with adding another shelf, I also added a billy bookcase from Ikea for floor storage.
I also added a utility cart from Ikea on the side to add storage for shopping bins, baking essentials, and shopping bags.
Ikea book shelves are amazing for storage and fit perfectly next to the utility cart.
Don’t be afraid to use paint if you’re trying to stick with a color theme. I got cheap containers from the Dollar store and used black paint on the lids to fit my theme.
Organizing my spices was fun with this cute jars from Ikea. The raised shelf is also from Ikea

I think the black duct tape idea is brilliant - never would have thought of it. The new pantry turned out well and the extra space is wonderful.
