Trash to Treasures

Found this solid oak side table on the side of the road. I just loved the curves it had.
The only part of this side table, was someone had replaced the top with this heavy piece of wood. It also had a green lament top to it that I had to rip off.
So I got started and sanded it down, to get it a least a somewhat a smooth texture to it.
I had to apply primer and about four coats of gray satin paint to hid all the imperfections. It's not perfect but again this is an antique piece.
I didn't want to hide the pretty grain of the oak. After sanding it down and giving it a good cleaning I applied a weather gray stained and then added a liming wax.
I added new hardware and pained the insides a light buttery yellow. I also added short legs to this but I don't have a picture of that.
It is now this weather classic look. I love how it turned out. I was glad I rescued it from getting thrown into the land fill. Now it has a home.
