The Comfort Pillow

My husband's Grandpa was a great man. He was a natural gentleman. Faithful, confident, sincere, and as funny as they come! A few short months ago , he passed away, leaving behind his beloved wife of 65 years (they ran off and got married in high school!!!) to be in even greater company.
I wanted to make a small memento for Miss Mary (as her church family loving calls her).
The idea of a comfort pillow hit me and when I saw the print on Grandpa's old shirt, I was sold. It will look great on a rattan chair in their coastal sun room.

I'm sure many (if not all of you) know how to make a pillow.
Measure! Measure! Measure!
The ensure a straight line with 90 degree edges, use a quilting ruler to measure and mark the 15 inch square.
Measure and mark your cuts! This is a one of a kind piece!
Once you have your squares cut out, flip them so the right sides are facing each other, pin, and sew all the way around.
Maybe the pillow will be her a little comfort. It's not the same as hugging him, but she can squeeze the pillow tight and picture him dancing on those golden streets!
