Scratches. They can ruin your favorite records, your brand-new cell phone and a good set of dishes. The good news is, at least your plates can be saved. Over time, wear and tear and heavy silverware can scratch dishes and turn china fit for guests into inner-circle only dishware. Instead of hiding your Wedgewood patterned china in the cabinet or investing in new dishes because of a few scratches, try turning to your trusted household friend - baking soda. Yep, all you need is baking soda, a large sink and a plastic scrubber to make your plates and bowls look like new. Tip: Wear rubber gloves when you’re scrubbing dishes to protect your hands.
1. If you have antique or expensive dishware, be sure to test it out on a small area on the back of the dish to make sure it doesn’t discolor or ruin the piece.
