Reupholstering Furniture - Small Pieces
A client brought me this old settee that she has had in her family for a long time. As you can see, it wasn't in the best shape.
Jumping right in, I took apart all of the cushions and stuffing and found this amazing spring system that was used prior to foam cushions.
Make sure.... when you are taking a part old furniture that you do this in a well ventilated space and wear protective eye and face gear. There are so many particles that come apart and into the air. The older the piece, the worse this will be.
I created a new cushion base and used muslin as a material pattern and tacked this into the wood. I chalk painted this so I didn't have to prime and prep the wood.
Once the material was on, I added my own cording around the edges.
