Have a builder grade home? Here's how you can add character to your hallway with two easy DIY projects!
After we finished the plank wall in our stairway our hallway felt a little...blah...so we gave it a little lovin' with two easy DIY projects! I first added a chair rail by installing 3 1/4" x 3/8" pine moulding. It was attached using a nail gun, then filled nail holes with wood putty and painted white! Pretty easy peasy. Full the full tutorial, check out the blog post!
The kids had so much fun painting with fun art with potatoes! And sure adds a pretty and sentimental touch to the hallway!
The second project was adding a craftsman style trim to the doors. I'm so pleased with how it turned out and I'll be sharing a full tutorial on the blog soon! With just two simple projects the hallway really stands out now! I've been considering adding batten to the walls, what do you think?
Enjoyed the project?

The children's potato prints are not only unique but provide a nice pop of color
