Hall Tree or Entryway Table

I'm cheap when I got thrift shopping. My limit is generally $5, and it helps me score great deals and cut down on impulse buying. I'm so glad I have those limits because it kept the price way down on this unique hall tree made from an old door and a sewing cabinet.
I left the top of the cabinet natural by refinishing it with a mixture of three stain colors. why? because I needed to match the front of the cabinet that was still in really great shape!
This is how it started out. With that $2 door and a sewing cabinet that had been $20, but I got it for 75% off. I was so happy when I measured the two items to see that they could be joined in junk matrimony.
I ran into a little trouble with the lower shelf. Because the legs were tapered and I was trying to get a snug fit, the cabinet came apart.
