For this month's Cent-Sational Salvage Challenge- Chairs // I wanted to make something that I've needed for a long time... A coffee bar. I'm a coffee junkie- all of those funny sayings on mugs like, "Don't talk to me until I've had coffee.... Coffee Makes me Awesome..." etc. Yes, those all fit me pretty well.
These cute coffee bar accessories are super easy and will class up your morning cup of joe. A Coffee Cup Tree, a Coffee Pot Trivet, and a Coffee Supply Tray.
These cute coffee bar accessories are super easy and will class up your morning cup of joe. A Coffee Cup Tree, a Coffee Pot Trivet, and a Coffee Supply Tray.
This is what my accessories started as. Really they were a box of random chair pieces that I picked up at an estate sale for $3! I just couldn't pass it up. Add a $1 box of nails and a $0.50 cabinet knob from Habitat ReStore and I was in business.
For the Coffee cup tree, I used wood nails and bent them using my vice and hammer.
I drilled a hole into some scrap wood and hammered a chair spindle into the center for the stand.
Using a drill, I drilled holes at an angle for the the nails to hold the coffee cups.
Add some stain, paint and glue, and you have a coffee cup tree that is certainly industrial farmhouse.
For the Coffee Supply Tray- I took 4 pieces of scrap wood the same length and created a box. Then added a bottom with 1/4" plywood. I drilled holes into the bottom to add the spindle legs.
Again, some stain and a paint job, my $0.50 knob and it's done!
For the Coffee Pot Trivet- in a piece of scrap wood- I used 3/4" plywood that is big enough to hold your coffee pot, drill holes for the legs just like the above box. My tip is to put a piece of tape on your bit so you know how far to drill.
Add your spindle legs and you have a trivet!
