A great alternative to an expensive automatic feeder, a recycled bucket and dollar store tray gets the job done. Total cost of materials $3.80 and about 30 minutes can offer a thrifty solution for an automatic feeder.
Materials: Food Grade bucket Bolts, Washers, Nuts Purchased from Hardware Store Plastic Appetizer Dish
Fill bucket with feed and hang in chicken coop. See Feeder in Action. For complete instructions: http://multitaskingmaven.com/automaticchickenfeeder
We get a lot of questions about alternative uses for this feeder, while we have not used it for other animals, a lot of our readers have! Be sure to see the feeder in action. It has been three years and our feeder is still in use feeding our girls every day.

Great idea, but I don't have any automatic chickens to feed. Mine are all manual. (Just kidding!) Sorry, I have a warped sense of humor! It is a great idea!
