Refreshed Vintage Drexel Tables

I found these gorgeous tables for a steal on Craig's List. Unfortunately, they were covered in gray/blue paint. Wait until you see what was under that paint.
I sold the tables before I started the restoration process. The buyer chose a white body with stained drawers. I love this classic combination with brass details.
The brass campaign-style hardware is perfectly aged.
The original details didn't survive paint removal, but you can see the original beauty.
After the paint was completely removed, I applied General Finishes Java Gel Stain to the drawers.
The brass 'X Base' is actually made of wood, and had been spray painted matte gold. I used a brass plate and duck as a guide to make the gold look like genuine aged brass, using a mix of black and gold Rub N Buff. (I'll post about this process soon!)
