A year ago we started planning a backyard oasis for our otherwise bland yard. Now it has a pool with waterfalls, a pool house, new fencing, and 4 new decks. The makeover is not 100% complete. We still need to complete some finishing touches on the deck and steps, add railings, and stain and paint the deck. Eventually we will also be replacing some of the furniture and adding lots of planters.
We had the pool professionally installed; but we saved a ton of money by building the fence, decks, and pool house ourselves. The project was time consuming, labor intensive, and oh so worth it!

we got rid of half of the grass by adding a pool, pool house, and surrounding decks.
The original backyard was empty except for a falling down shed and an old concrete slab. There was absolutely no reason to even go in it. Now we never want to go inside!
The new pool house stores all the pool equipment and pumps.
Waterfalls cascade off a stone wall and add to the ambiance of the space.
We also replaced the gate and fencing with an arbor that holds the trashcans and ac units.

The pool with the concrete came to $30,000. It's 12x24.
