Now that my daughters are out of college, I thought I would update the white bedroom furniture of their childhood to reflect their adult personalities. My younger daughter adores gray
I had been researching possibilities on Pinterest and saw a 2-tone dresser post. Her favorite color is gray and I was worried about how to make gray look exciting.

Started painting piece by piece. Dresser
Nightstand
We had painted flowers on the desk when she was little. It was bittersweet to scrape them off but I thought she would really like my vision
Painted stripes on an initial and lampshade, painted a pillow, put master's mortar board in keepsake frame, made wreath for door and hung pictures that she had made in college that were a perfect match!
Bought comforter set and chair to complete.

Suggested materials:
- Maui sand Folk Art chalk paint. It is darker gray. For the lighter color, I simply added white to th (Joanne's)
- Metallic paint for drawer pulls
- Jute mesh and burlap ribbon for wreath
