FREE Dresser Turned Media Center!!!!

With homemade chalk paint I transformed this antique dresser into a media center with lots of storage!
A coworker was moving and gave me this lovely antique dresser
For the first time ever, I made homeade chalk paint. I used 3 parts paint to 1 part Plaster of Paris. I'm not sure if i didnt stir the plaster long enough before adding the paint, or if it was just too warm outside. But the longer i painted, the lumpier it got. I had to sand every surface i painted, but at least i had a good base before adding another coat of plain paint.
I did my best to use wood filler on the cracked veneer, but unfortunately, the center medallion cracked too much, so I carefully added stripper.
I decided i didn't want holes where the openings were, so using a spade bit I drilled so the holes would be where the top drawer is.
After putting in the dish receiver and DVD player, i fed the cords through. When i replaced the top drawer, it wouldnt fit! I had to remove the bottom drawer to figure out the problem. duh!!!! The cords! I cut notches on the back board of the drawer, and now it fits!
I'm undecided if i will make homemade chalk paint again, but for my first project, I Am pleased I now have something much sturdier for our monstrosity of a TV. Sure, I would love a flat screen, but why go to the expense when this one still works?

Thank you, Hannah! I'm pleased with the results even with my inexperience and issues. I came home from work today, and it was such a pretty welcome sight in my living room! I'm going to enjoy it for a very long time!
