Wine Cart From This!

4 Days

Are you ready to see how to change the life of an IKEA RAST Dresser Hack? I am not talking just painting the drawers and changing the hardware - but a true IKEA RAST dresser hack that converts into this beautiful new piece of furniture.

Our Beautiful Wine Cart from our IKEA Rast Dresser Hack

So...without further ado...lets show you what we did.

We took the Ikea RAST dresser from the package, and started to gather our ideas. We used a majority of the piece sent to us and a couple scraps from our shop to make this beautiful Ikea RAST Dresser Hack become a one of a kind wine cart! Don't you just dig it!!!

We started by assembling the sides of the dresser. Once completed, we added a bottom, and inserted a wine holder made of wood and metal from Marshalls for $9.99. We cut the sides to fit, added a cute little trim piece and attached to the bottom.

Once we had the wine rack set, we moved on to the drawer. Knowing we wanted to add stem wear holders, we decide to take the drawer front and cut it down, giving us a secret drawer to store cute little goodies like wine stoppers, pullers etc.

We were invited to complete the IKEA RAST dresser hack by Missy and our sponsors PPG (The Voice of Color Paint line) and Hickory Hardware. They have completely paid to send us all the great items you will see in our hack. A big thank you to them all. We are so excited to have been chosen to design and create this IKEA RAST Dresser hack!

Adding wine holder in to bottom.

Thank you Hickory Hardware for sponsoring the IKEA Hack - we are honored to have completed it for you.

Isn't the hardware from Hickory Hardware to die for? We just love the affect it provides our wine cart. The matching stem ware holders match it all perfect.

Once our build was complete we selected an elegant Black Magic paint provided by our sponsor PPG (The voice of color line). This paint was a dream to work with and is 100% Latex with a zero VOC Low Odor control. As the Black Magic color dressed up our Ikea RAST Dresser Hack wine cart, we could tell this was high quality and would provide just the look we wanted. We added some light distressing and then used a top coat to seal the paint.

So - can you even tell this was ever a dresser? I sure can't. We truly put our all into making this wonderful piece of furniture so you could see it does not just have to have a painted front and new knobs - it can become a completely different piece of new furniture with a little imagination. Well, that completes our IKEA RAST Dresser Hack. We hope you loved the Wine Cart - and again we want to thank our sponsors who helped make our hack possible - PPG - The Voice of Color - IKEA for the RAST Dresser and Hickory Hardware who provided the lovely bling that completed our wine cart. Until next post - Keep on building!

We would love for you to stop by and vote for our Wine Cart - we need your help to win this one! :-)

Love this. Was the top made from scraps? Is there a tutorial on that part?

I had bought for my baker island a 6 foot piece of American Walnut. This was left over. I bought the walnut from lumber liquidators raw, I then oiled it with food grade oil until the beauty shined through.
