Small Dresser Refinish Project

I have had this little dresser for several years - it is solid wood with cedar lined drawers.

The top of the dresser has gotten worn and needed to be finished - badly!

You can see how the top had acquired water stains and some chips - but was still in very good condition.

I sanded down the wood - and loved how pretty it was underneath and then put on my favorite staining product, Restore-A-Finish. After two coats of stain, I brushed on two coats of poly - lightly sanding with steel wool in between each coat.

I had some glass knobs that I bought in bulk and they looked great as a replacement to plain wooded knobs that were previously on the dresser. Love the new look!
Suggested materials:
  • Stain
  • Polyurethane
  • Glass knobs

Notice there is a container of REstorafinish. Did you use this, too?
