Old Dresser Makeover - Beach Look

2 Materials
2 Hours

My daughter wanted to sell my old maple dresser that I have had since I was 9 years old. It weighs a ton. So I decided to do a two tone paint to brighten up our bedroom. My husband was dying to get more drawer space.

I didn’t buy any paint. My plan was to just use what I had. Started with an acrylic light blue.

Then came in with a turquoise while it was still wet. I wanted the blended look.

I bought new hardware and spent $35. It took forever to find 2 1/2 inch handles, but Home Depot had them. After trying them, I decided to go back to the old brass ones and take the others back. A lady wanted to buy the dresser for $100. We ended up keeping it.

I left the top alone as it’s formica. Love that feature in the old furniture. No coasters required 😂

Here is a side view.

It’s not one of my favorite pieces that I have done, but it was fun and quick.

This is what it looked like in the storage unit,
