How to Remove Candle Wax From Glass Tapers
Hate when a candle burns into the taper, and you can’t get it out? Learn how to remove candle wax from glass tapers with this step by step!

I used approximately 100 taper candles on the tables, but one of the things I did not account for was how fast the candle would burn down due to the air conditioning.
The candles burnt down in half the time they should have which resulted in 100 glass tapers with leftover burnt down wax. Ugh.
I use this method to remove wax from jars and tapers which works most of the time, but this technique is most effective when I am able to blow out the candle prior to it burning below the opening of the taper.
I placed the glass tapers in the freezer first, but this method was not nearly as effective and only allowed for easy removal of about 10% of the wax.
So . . . I moved to another method that often works if the freezing method doesn’t.
How to Remove Candle Wax From Glass Tapers
1. Place the tapers in the sink and fill with hot water.
This alone will pop out some of the wax.
2. Place the wax in a strainer with a piece of paper towel in it.
3. Use a knife to scrape out the softened wax.
Run hot water over the wax if necessary to soften the wax more.
4. Clean the glass taper.

Put the glass candle holder in a deep pan of water, bring to a boil, remove from heat, allow to cool completely. Skim the wax off the top (it can be recycled if you like), remove the wax-free candlesticks from the pan.
