DIY Valentine’s Day Clay Heart Garland!
Do you decorate for Valentines Day? I like to, but I am enjoying more neutral decor these days. With Valentine’s Day approaching, I saw this cute idea inspired by @Vintageporch to make a clay heart garland! It is the perfect neutral garland that is so cute for Valentines Day!
First I covered a cookie sheet with tin foil. Then, I used a heart cookie cutter to shape about 10 hearts out of air dry modeling clay. I didn’t want them completely perfect and smooth I liked the texture and messiness to them.
I then laid each heart on the cookie sheet. I pushed a bobby pin down the center for a hole to pull the jute cord through. If the bobby pin pokes through your heart, no worries. Just add some clay over it and spread it out a bit.
I then baked them in the oven for 1 hour on 200 degrees to speed up the drying process. Even after that they needed a few hours to air dy. It may be easiest to let them dry overnight.
Once they were fully dried, I pulled them through on a jute cord and added a neutral bead for just a little extra something. The garland ended up being about 6t long. I love how it turned out. Let’s be honest, I just love love. If you make this garland be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can see!

I love your garland! Using bobbie pins for the hooks is a great idea. And, since wooden beads are so popular in home decor, adding the beads gives it an extra special touch. Thanks for sharing.
