Easy No Sew Sweater Flower Pot Covers

I love mums in the Fall and I always add them to my fall porch decor. However, I am not a fan of the ugly plastic containers they come in. These no sew sweater flower pot covers can quickly remedy that!

Supplies

If you want to make them yourself here is what you will need (and about 5-10 minutes!)

  • old sweater
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun & glue
  • mums or any flower in an ugly container 😉

For Smaller Containers:

For smaller sized mums you will cut off the sleeves. Simply slip your sleeve over the container until it is fully covered and then cut off the excess. Glue the remainder of your fabric to the bottom of the container to hold it in place. Make sure to not have too much excess fabric so the plant can drain when you water it. That is it! So simple, right?

For Larger Containers

For your larger mums start by simply cutting your sweater apart. Next, lay your flower pot out on a flat surface on top of your sweater.

Then pull the sweater tightly around the pot and decide if you need to trim off any excess sweater fabric. Next, grab your hot glue gun to add a strip of glue to the sweater. Finally, glue the two pieces together to hold the sweater in place. Fold the bottom under and glue it to the bottom of your container.

A Simple No Sew Flower Pot Project

That’s it! The best part is that these flower pot covers are no sew. They cozy up your porch and they are a great way to up-cycle an old sweater.I mean, who doesn’t love a mum dressed in a sweater?:)
